5/13 Bargaining Update
Dear colleagues,
Today we had our 32nd bargaining session with Allina. It was our turn to respond and we gave them a Work Schedules proposal at 10:30 AM with a number of changes from our last pass.
Allina returned at 11:45 AM with no changes to their proposal. They shared a number of comments about the remaining differences between our proposals. One of the key points of contention is our team's desire to ensure the accountability of everyone who shares a clinic practice, regardless of whether they are a bargaining unit physician, lead, or otherwise. We want to discourage preferential treatment in scheduling.
In an effort toward mutual understanding with the employer we asked Allina for a sidebar conversation to discuss these scheduling concerns. They explained more to us about their hang-ups with our scheduling language, which gave us a better idea how to modify our proposal in the interest of finding an agreement.
We delivered an updated proposal at 1:45 PM. Allina returned at 2:50 PM with a counter proposal including some substantive changes. Attempting to reach an agreement today if possible, we quickly prepared another pass and presented it at 3:25 PM. We weren't able to get to an agreement as the employer notified us around 3:45 PM that they would not have a further response today.
You can find all proposals exchanged and other bargaining resources using this document.
Our next bargaining date is next week, Monday May 19th. We intend to deliver an initial set of economics proposals on this day, so please plan to attend (especially in the morning hours) if at all possible. We will start at 8:30 AM at the Unity Education Building (just east of Unity campus, behind the Lyric Building) at 620 Osborne Rd NE, Fridley, MN. Your participation is appreciated in showing Allina that we are all paying attention as negotiations progress into the economics phase.
See you next week!
