5/19 Bargaining Update
Today we had our 33rd session of negotiations with Allina. We spent the morning reviewing proposals as we prepared to present our first economic items to Allina.
At 10:45 AM the employer presented a response on our Work Schedules proposal, informing us they were holding on their most recent offer. They also presented a standalone Seniority provision, separating that item from the packages they had been offering for the past few months.
At 1:00 PM we responded to the Work Schedules proposal, and also introduced a number of our first economic proposals. Our economic proposals from today included CME, leaves, retirement benefits, insurance, and more. We will be proposing direct compensation and other economic items at a later date. Part of our proposal includes tuition reimbursement for new physicians who stay with Allina for 15 years. Allina currently covers some educational expenses for Nurses who stay for much less time.
Allina returned at 2:20 PM with some verbal commentary about our proposals. They expressed appreciation for the economic proposals but told us they would like to wait to respond until we provide them a proposal for direct compensation. We had some further discussion about what all needs to be included in the Work Schedules language that we will pick back up in our next session.
You can view all proposals exchanged and other bargaining resources through this document. We also have a new website at https://doccouncilmn.org
We will meet with Allina again on June 2nd. It will be a fully virtual session beginning at 8:30 AM. All members are encouraged to join our caucus throughout the day at the usual Zoom link.
