We began the day by giving Allina a revised proposal encompassing retirement (401k), CME, paid disability and caregiver leave, health insurance, as well as other leaves. We are really trying to get into agreement with Allina - and to that end are essentially trying to keep most of these areas more or less the same, with some small changes including available CME dollars (we’re fighting to increase to $5000 for all providers), and higher percentage of paid premiums for health insurance. We would really like to make progress on these issues and then focus on compensation and be done with the contract.

Allina responded to our proposal by offering to keep CME dollars the same as they currently are now. However, their new proposal prorates CME dollars. Currently CME is only prorated at .75 and below. Previously Allina was not proposing any set CME money. They told us they are still looking at the other items in our proposal like health insurance, 401k, etc.

In the afternoon we also gave Allina an adjusted compensation proposal. We came down significantly on what we have been proposing - again we are trying to get into agreement with Allina. Our proposal still reflects a significant pay increase for everyone across the board. We hope that making a large move will be met with Allina coming up on their current proposal which would have us all making significantly less than we make now. We are still fighting to decrease contact hours to give people time and pay for in-basket work, meeting, and trainings.

We are really trying to adjust our proposals to come to an agreement. We made a big adjustment today in our economic proposal and expect Allina to make significant movement as well. If we don’t see movement we will weigh our options moving forward, including announcing a strike.

We meet again in 2 weeks.
