Today we packed the bargaining room with our colleagues to again show Allina the importance of getting to a fair contract.  Many who attended are employed at clinics that are facing closures.

Allina opened the session with a modified compensation proposal which only addressed small changes to compensation for urgent care providers. We are currently working on data modelling. We will have more time to address this tomorrow.

We addressed the pressing concern of our clinics facing closures.  We offered a proposal regarding clarity on available positions, process of transfer, compensation, etc.  Several providers spoke passionately about the decades of service they’ve given our organization and the impacts these changes will have to our patients and communities. Jessica Oiseth clarified several issues and inconsistencies regarding Allina’s communications, stating “we need to do a better job.”

Amanda Norris, FP-Buffalo Crossroads made a poignant statement that our union is here not just for providers but to work with Allina, to help solve healthcare delivery issues, and work through uncertain health policy changes.  We need to move forward together.

For those impacted by closures:

1) You may apply for open positions within workday. The updated list will be sent to all impacted providers by 7/30/25

-Pediatric APPs may apply to any position listed for Pediatric Md

2) You are encouraged to apply to any position that would be acceptable (apply for multiple job openings)

3) Applications must be submitted by 8/6/25

4) Interview period will end 8/22/25. Applicants will be paid for interview and travel time

5) Job offers will occur on 8/25/25. You will have 24 hours to respond to the offer. If you are not selected at the site you applied you may then apply to other open areas.

We are bargaining issues as we face these closures. We have proposed protections for providers including —salary guarantee, non-compete language, and severance language.  More to come.

One important point for all providers-your position is never guaranteed. Allina can continue to abandon primary care as it pursues more specialty services if it desires.

We know the urgency many feel regarding the pending clinic closures. We will update everyone as soon as we have new information available. Please continue to forward your questions, concerns and difficulties to anyone on the CAT or bargaining team.

We are working to protect all our jobs, the care we offer our patients, and our value to our communities.

We are bargaining again tomorrow.

Please remember we have an all-member meeting tomorrow night at 8pm. Your voice is important. Please plan to attend. If you cannot attend, please submit any questions or concerns in reply to this email. Link below.
