6/11 Bargaining Update

Hi everyone,

Video bargaining update: https://youtu.be/VENzmBPqMb4

We had a very disappointing bargaining session with Allina today. At the end of the last bargaining session, we again adjusted our economic proposal. We also spoke to the importance of finding a mechanism to account for all of the unpaid work we do. Allina came back to the table with essentially no movement - they are still proposing to pay us much less than we make now with no mechanism to give us time or pay for non-direct patient care work. They are not coming to the table in terms of time off for illness or to care for family members. They have been telling us for 3 months that they want to find common ground on a compensation framework but have made no actual efforts to get there.

We have worked very hard to bargain fairly with Allina. Our compensation proposal is much different than we initially proposed and Allina has not changed theirs in any meaningful way. They have also told us that they are refusing to bargain at all in August, even though they have agreed to bargain with our physician colleagues at Mercy in August.

We absolutely believe that we can make progress, but it will mean that we need to show Allina how serious we are about attracting people to primary care, keeping people in primary care, and fighting for the sustainability of primary care.

We will have an all member meeting on Tuesday, June 17 at 8pm. Please come if you are able. We are in a position unique in the country to actually have a seat at the table and our power will always be fighting together.
